Marketing Lead

Our top candidate would be someone who is an owner of high-ROI field marketing and events, a scrappy startup executor who builds the machine, and a social and content creator willing to be the face of the brand.

Detect Auto is an AI-powered software company building the operating system for modern auto repair shops. We automate routine tasks, giving mechanics and shop owners more time in the repair bay. Joining our small, rapidly growing team (18 to 25+ employees) means having a foundational impact on the product, culture, and scale of the company.

MISSION OF THE ROLE: THE GROWTH ARCHITECT & FIELD OWNER

This is a high-ownership, hands-on role. You will design and execute our marketing strategy, focusing on building the foundational marketing capacity needed for long-term scale. Your primary mission is to personally own, execute, and deliver measurable, high ROI from field marketing, partnerships, and our content engine. This is a builder role—you will write the playbook and execute it yourself.

LOCATION AND WORK ARRANGEMENT

  • Location: In person preferred (Fargo, ND - 1 or Austin, TX - 2). Remote considered.
  • Work type: Full time, benefited position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: OWN THE FIELD, EXECUTE THE FOOTPRINT

You will have end-to-end ownership of our core growth drivers:

  • High-ROI Field Marketing & Partnerships: Personally own the strategy and execution of key industry trade shows, conferences, and partner events. Drive measurable success by tracking leads, pipeline, and ROI from all event activities. Must be comfortable traveling, attending events, and building relationships in person.
  • Content & Social Engine: Act as the face of the brand by personally creating, capturing, or appearing in content (e.g., short-form video, social posts). Develop and execute a consistent content calendar (blog, social, email) that leverages event interactions and aligns with sales goals.
  • Digital Strategy & Optimization: Own and improve the company website's performance, focusing on conversion and foundational SEO. Manage paid digital campaigns (Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads) with a focus on maximizing MQL generation and ROI.

WHAT YOU BRING: THE ESSENTIAL BUILDER TRAITS

  • Experience: 3+ years in a B2B or SaaS marketing role, with essential experience in a scrappy startup or early-stage environment where you owned channels directly with limited budget and support.
  • Hands-on Execution: Demonstrated ability to personally execute campaigns, create assets, and write copy—this is not a management-only role.
  • Event Comfort: Must be capable of traveling, attending trade shows, and confidently representing the company in person.
  • Technical & Writing Skills: Proficiency in SEO, Google Ads management, web analytics, and excellent written communication for diverse marketing copy.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Base salary: $95,000 - $120,000 annual USD, commensurate with experience.
  • Early-stage equity potential
  • Full time role with benefits beginning on day one of employment.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • Reports into Sales/Marketing or a designated cross functional leader.
  • Works closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and the founding team.
