Marketing Manager

JOB PURPOSE

Provides specialist support and leads the effective implementation and delivery of corporate communications programs for EGA to raise the public and industry profile and nurture the corporate identity in line with the overall business objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Strategic Contribution: Ensures effective cascading of the functional strategy into department business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies.
  • Subject matter expertise: Provides counsel on all related areas to facilitate the achievement of EGA's corporate communications strategy.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Supports in monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to corporate communications activities to track performance and take corrective action.
  • Leadership: Provide guidance and on the job training for junior colleagues and conduct knowledge sharing to facilitate achievement of team objectives and completion of tasks in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
  • Value promotion: Promote the organisation's values and ethics in all activities within the team to support the establishment of a value driven culture within the organisation.
  • Budgeting and Financial Performance: Monitors the financial performance of the section against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
  • Policies, Processes & Procedures: Provides inputs and implements policies, systems, and procedures for the assigned team so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service.
  • Corporate Communications Channels: Executes strategies of all communications channels ensuring alignment to stakeholder expectations and brand guidelines.
  • Financial Communications: Together with Manager, contribute to the development of financial communications strategies and campaigns in line with regulatory standards.
  • Communication Channel Development: Leads the development of various communication channels to facilitate the effective execution of the functional strategies.
  • Initiatives Execution: Reviews and validates that assigned corporate communication initiatives are executed in line with the corporate strategy to fulfil the business objectives in key target audiences and public domains.
  • Research & Best Practices: Leads the conducting of research and establishment of the best practices and strategies in communication, aiming to provide benchmark solutions and consequently maximise the generation of value to EGA's brand/reputation.
  • Reputational Theme Ownership: Plans, initiates and takes accountability for communications on EGA's reputational themes.
  • Content Development: Takes accountability for the development of content for EGA's reputational themes (copy, images, videos, design, or animations) in partnership with Visual Communications team that aligns with the communications strategy and EGA's brand position.
  • Team Oversight: Oversees, guides and monitors team members who act as focal point with other departments to ensure ongoing collaboration and seize appropriate opportunities for communications activities.
  • Communications Materials and Collaterals: Generates or reviews any external communication material and new templates for standard communications as required - including press releases, editorials, company website content and graphics - to ensure alignment to corporate image and strategic objectives.
  • Initiatives Development: Initiates and supervises the development of communications materials (in English and Arabic) to ensure alignment with EGA's brand position and corporate values, particularly those related to EGA's themes.
  • Media Relations Management: Develops and maintains relationships with the media to maximise exposure opportunities, creates awareness and strengthens the market position of EGA through positive reporting on corporate and operational news.
  • Media Requests Management: Manages media requests and interviews to achieve media objectives.
  • Media Events Management: Manages media events such as press conferences, media roundtables, and media tours.
  • Executive Profile: Raises the profile of EGA executives and leadership in the media through proactive article and feature placement, press conferences, personal interviews, video news releases, social media to increase brand awareness.
  • Project Management: Manages creative communications campaigns for major milestones and projects as per defined scope and governance standards. Oversees, monitors, and guides the project management of other team members to deliver their projects successfully, and supports when needed.
  • Relationship Management & Networking: Develops and maintains an extensive network of external contacts to ensure that EGA is optimally placed in its understanding of business, economic and commercial challenges, and opportunities and to identify the potential for any new communication channels. Manages relationships with relevant third parties providing external communications products or services to EGA to ensure requirements are met and contracts are adhered to.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participates in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
  • Reporting: Prepare sectional statements and reports timely and accurately to meet EGA and department requirements, policies, and quality standards.
  • Safety, Quality, and Environment: Ensures compliance by Corporate Communications to all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, and a responsible environmental attitude. Ensures Corporate Communications activity and output demonstrate and enhance EGA's reputation for safety, quality management and environmental performance.
  • Related Assignments: Performs other related assignments or duties as directed.

  • Thinks within clearly defined policies, principles, and specific objectives, under readily available direction.
  • Work is subject to managerial review and can have an impact on the organisation.
  • Overseeing all Corporate Communications projects, taking direct leadership on largest and most challenging. High degree of autonomy.
