Mason

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mason to join our hotel maintenance team. The Mason will be responsible for construction, repair, and maintenance of masonry structures, ensuring the hotel’s facilities are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. Attention to detail, safety awareness, and quality workmanship are essential.

Key ResponsibilitiesMasonry & Construction

• Construct, repair, and maintain walls, partitions, columns, floors, and other structures using bricks, blocks, stones, and concrete.
• Mix, pour, and spread mortar or concrete according to specifications.
• Cut, shape, and finish materials to precise dimensions.
• Ensure all masonry work meets hotel quality standards and design specifications.
• Repair cracks, holes, and structural damage in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.

Maintenance & Inspection

• Conduct routine inspections of masonry structures to identify wear, damage, or safety hazards.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule repair or construction tasks.
• Ensure all masonry work is completed on time and with minimal disruption to hotel operations.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow all health and safety guidelines when handling tools, materials, and scaffolding.
• Use proper PPE and maintain a safe working environment.
• Dispose of construction waste and debris according to hotel and environmental regulations.
• Report safety hazards or structural concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Teamwork & Communication

• Coordinate with other maintenance staff and hotel departments for repair schedules.
• Communicate progress, requirements, and challenges clearly to supervisors.
• Maintain a professional attitude and ensure minimal disruption to guests.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mason in a hotel, commercial, or residential environment.
• Skilled in working with bricks, concrete, blocks, and stone.
• Knowledge of masonry tools and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
• Physical stamina and ability to work at heights or in varied conditions.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
