Mason

A Mason is a skilled tradesperson who works with materials such as brick, stone, and concrete to construct and repair buildings, walls, and other structures. Masons may work on construction sites, in manufacturing facilities, or in private homes, and they often specialize in a particular type of masonry work. Some of the specific duties of a mason include:

Responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams
• Measuring and cutting materials such as brick and stone
• Laying and aligning bricks or stones using mortar or other adhesives
• Applying plaster or other materials to create a smooth finish on walls or ceilings
• Repairing or replacing damaged or worn components of structures and fixtures
• Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other professionals to design and plan construction projects
• Maintaining and repairing tools and equipment used in masonry work
• Ensuring that all work meets safety and building code requirements
