Position overview

A Material Coordinator (MC) is typically assigned a set of customer accounts for which they will process the majority of the kitting activities. The MC may also be asked to help with other customers periodically, depending upon the overall departmental workload. Utilizing LIBRA’s Simba Kitting WIP screen, the MC prioritizes their kits based upon date order, also considering expedite requests.

Responsibilities

For every kit, the MC reviews all pertinent project data and LIBRA’s ISO standards to

determine kitting requirements, then proceeds as follows:

 Gather required components, including board fabrication. Project materials may come from

the customer, LIBRA procurement, LIBRA inventory, or any combination of these.

 Kit components by reviewing all parts against the Kitting BOM, labeling each package per

LIBRA’s spec, and adding to the kit using the Optel software (Nala).

 If there are any kit discrepancies (missing or short components, items provided that do not

match the BOM, etc.), notify the customer or LIBRA Parts department as needed to resolve.

 Inspect bare boards per IPC-600, using LIBRA’s sampling plan to determine correct QC

qty.

 If required, print custom labels per the customer’s specifications. Submit printed labels to

another MC for peer review and signoff.

 If any components were LIBRA-procured or were pulled from inventory, assure that each

item is appropriately issued to a Solomon Work Order.

 Once any kit issues are resolved, release the kit to Assembly.

 Monitor the Material Issues Dashboard in Optel for any post-release parts issues, resolving

as quickly as possible.

 Upon project completion, assist in restocking of materials if required, or perform a kit post-

audit if requested by the customer.

 Assist with inventory cycle counts as requested by department Manager.

 Assist with LIBRA Purchase Order receiving as needed.

 Assist with packaging and shipping of completed assemblies as needed.

 Work with Corporate IT department to fully utilize existing software tools and systems.

 Other duties as assigned.
