Job Summary
Learn and assist with purchase order preparation, supply receiving, and pricing coordination with the contract buyer, while completing clerical tasks under the supervision of the Director of Materials Management.
Essential Functions
- Review requisitions and assist with preparing purchase orders.
- Help place and track orders using phone, email, and other methods.
- Verify shipments by comparing packing slips and invoices.
- Support receiving and inventory duties for supplies and equipment.
- Maintain procurement and inventory records.
- Work with the contract buyer to help secure best pricing.
- Assist with resolving supply issues, recalls, and delivery needs.
- Help ensure adequate supply levels across departments.
- Maintain regular attendance at the assigned work location.
Competencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of general office procedures and ability to troubleshoot office equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High school education or equivalent is preferred.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Supply Chain Management or a similar field.
- Experience:
- One-year previous experience preferred.
