Materials Manager

We are seeking an experienced, quality driven, passionate and vibrant materials manager to drive and oversee this piece of our organization into our next phase of growth. The individual in this hands-on role will take the lead in sourcing of reclaimed and new production materials, coordinating all purchasing functions and managing raw materials, in-process and finished goods inventory. This person will be a key contributor to our management team and will successfully drive alignment within these disciplines.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership/direction to all buyers in the procurement of components, raw materials, equipment and supplies required to hit on-time delivery, quality and cost targets
• Manage and refine the Kanban-based materials system that has been established to support cell assembly
• Develop relationships with suppliers and implement strategies to ensure best prices and continuous supply and availability of production materials
• Manage supplier returns; drive quality back to suppliers
• Design, implement, manage and monitor procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements
• Verify, track and account for all materials or merchandise involved with sustaining the operation of the business as well as developing
• Track and control materials cost by developing efficient and cost-effective ordering system
• Drive implementation of best practices in all material and purchasing functions.
• Implement processes/systems to ensure accuracy and timeliness of data input and ERP system transactions within materials and purchasing
• Drive accuracy of raw materials inventory

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent
• 5 + years’ experience in a lead materials management role with additional logistics responsibilities
• Project management background – negotiation and problem-solving skills

• Must have ability to work with statistical analyses/financial transactions and concepts
• Strong Microsoft Office skills that include spreadsheet experience

• Confident, composed and has the ability to change direction with minimal notice
• Analytical, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
