Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description :

Develop 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for mechanical

components and assemblies.

 Perform concept generation, feasibility studies, and design iterations based

on functional requirements.

 Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T application, and ensure

manufacturability.

 Evaluate material selection, surface treatments, and mechanical reliability

requirements.

 Work with vendors to develop prototypes through machining and fabrication.

 Participate in testing (environmental, thermal, vibration, mechanical strength).

 Analyse test data and revise designs based on results.

 Prepare engineering documentation, BOMs, ECNs/ECRs, and design review

reports.

 Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (ISO, ASME, IEC, MIL-

STD, etc.).

 Maintain version control and change management procedures.

 Coordinate with cross-functional teams including electrical, manufacturing,

procurement, QA, and program management.

 Provide technical guidance to suppliers and evaluate vendor capabilities.

 Support product lifecycle from concept to production release.

Required skills

 Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD)

 Knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, and surface treatments.

 Experience with FEA tools and simulation methodologies.

 Good understanding of DFM, DFA, and reliability principles.

 Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
