- Lead the mechanical design of components and systems for waste-to-energy machines, including reactors, shredding systems, thermal processing units, conveyor systems, and support structures.
- Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings. FEA (stress, deformation, fatigue), CFD (thermal, combustion, airflow, heat transfer), Motion and kinematic analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, electrical, software, sustainability) to translate concepts into manufacturable products.
- Support prototype development, experimental setups, and field testing.
- Optimize mechanical systems for efficiency, safety, durability, and cost.
- Research and evaluate new materials, fabrication methods, and design approaches relevant to climate-tech systems.
- Document design iterations, test results, and simulation findings.
- Ensure compliance with mechanical engineering standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Strong proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, or similar).
- Experience with simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL, SolidWorks Simulation, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics, and fluid dynamics.
- Ability to design for manufacturability (DFM) and work with fabrication teams.
- Hands-on prototyping experience (machining, 3D printing, assembling mechanical systems).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for sustainability, climate technology, or circular economy solutions.
