Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Role Overview:

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the selection, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment for emergency loading and unloading skids, ensuring full compliance with Saudi Aramco standards, international codes, and NJBP operational requirements.

Scope of Responsibility:Mechanical Equipment Engineering

  • Select, install, and commission mechanical components including:
  • Pumps
  • Loading arms and/or hoses
  • Strainers and filters
  • Pressure relief valves and safety devices
  • Ensure all mechanical equipment is suitable for hazardous area classification and certified accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and codes including:
  • SAES-B-017, API 610 / API 676 (pumps) , API RP 1004 (loading and unloading systems)

Installation & Testing

  • Supervise and perform:
  • Equipment alignment (laser/dial methods)
  • Installation and leveling
  • Mechanical testing and functional checks
  • Verify installation in accordance with approved drawings and vendor requirements

Key Deliverables:

  • Mechanical equipment data sheets
  • Installation and method statements
  • Mechanical inspection and test reports
  • Pre-commissioning and pre-startup checklists
  • Commissioning and start-up support documentation
  • As-built mechanical documentation

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Saudi Aramco mechanical standards
  • Experience with hazardous area equipment selection and installation
  • Proficiency in interpreting mechanical, piping, and vendor drawings
  • Strong coordination with piping, electrical, instrumentation, and HSE teams
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in oil & gas or fuel handling projects
  • Strong experience with pumps, loading arms, and skid-mounted packages
  • Familiarity with Aramco approval, inspection, and commissioning processes
  • Proven experience working on Saudi Aramco projects
  • Strict adherence to approved Aramco standards and NJBP operational requirements
  • Participate in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities
  • Support final acceptance and project close-out documentation
