MECHANICAL ESTIMATION ENGINEER

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Estimation Engineer with strong technical knowledge in building construction systems to prepare accurate and competitive mechanical cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, and related services. The role involves evaluating drawings, specifications, and scope of work to support project bidding and tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Estimating & Tender Preparation

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for mechanical works including HVAC systems, plumbing & drainage, fire-fighting systems, and associated equipment.

• Analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, scope of work, and technical requirements.

• Review subcontractor/ supplier quotations and incorporate them into estimates.

• Develop and submit comprehensive bid proposals within tender deadlines.

2. Cost Analysis & Budgeting

• Perform material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost analysis.

• Prepare cost breakdown structures and pricing schedules.

• Identify project risks and cost impact, recommending mitigation measures.

3. Coordination & Technical Support

• Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, and other disciplines to clarify scope and technical requirements.

• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to understand project conditions and requirements.

• Provide technical input for value engineering and alternative solutions to optimize cost.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain estimating files, standard rates, and historical cost data.

• Generate reports, comparison sheets, and estimate summaries.

• Ensure all tender submissions comply with company standards and client requirements.

5. Continuous Improvement

• Update and maintain the estimating database and unit rates for mechanical works in local market (Dubai/UAE).

• Track trends, material price fluctuations, and labor rates specific to the UAE construction industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

• Minimum 3-5 years of estimating experience in building construction projects (preferably in Dubai/UAE).

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting) in building projects.

• Proficient in quantity take-off and estimation software

• Knowledge of UAE construction standards, specifications, and local market rates.

• Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED1.00 - AED2.00 per month
