The Estimation Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting our sales and business development efforts by preparing comprehensive and competitive proposals for our service-related projects at ACWA Power and external businesses across the fleet.
Key Accountabilities -

Create and update of Sales & BD databases, proposal tracker and other reporting statistics.

Extract data from databases and prepare presentations for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting needs of the Sales/BD Team.

Develop ready to use proposal templates for internal ACWA Customers and external customers depending on and periodically update templates to suit the array of services offered by ACWA Field Service.

Support commercial/proposal manager in creating and/or preparing tailored proposal for energy projects.

Collaborate with other, engineering, operations, supply chain, logistics and project management teams to collate costs and consolidate for estimation purposes.

Analyze RFQ/project specifications, technical drawings, and other relevant documentation to accurately estimate project costs timelines and risks associated with the opportunity.

Prepare detailed technical proposals, including scope of work, limits of scope, manpower and equipment provided, pricing, and commercial terms, in accordance with RFQ/Tender requirements and company guidelines.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between proposal content, offered solutions an RFQ/Tender requirement.

Support the negotiation process by providing technical expertise and addressing customer inquiries and concerns.

Support Commercial and Proposal manager in preparing internal approval requests in the defined format for proposals requiring leadership approval.

Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and site visits as needed to gather project information and build relationships.

Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for differentiation and continuous improvement.

Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the commercial and business development function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

COMMUNICATION & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal:
Needs to work closely with the Head of Commercial/Proposal, Project Directors, Head of Planning, Supply Chain and Head of OSIS
External:
Needs to build a rapport with contractors, vendors, service providers, Consultants, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
-
Minimum of 7 years of experience in proposal engineering or related roles within the energy industry.

Strong technical knowledge of energy systems, including power generation, transmission, and distribution.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.

Familiarity with proposal management software and CRM tools is desirable.

Willingness to travel occasionally to customer meetings and project site visits.
