Job Description: Mechanical Project Engineer (Construction Industry)
- Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of mechanical systems in construction projects.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives and timelines are met.
- Develop and manage project schedules and budgets for mechanical engineering aspects.
- Lead the design and specification of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other relevant systems.
- Review and approve mechanical system designs, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Provide technical expertise in the selection of materials, equipment, and construction methods.
- Ensure the mechanical systems meet quality standards, local regulations, specifications, and client expectations.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to verify the quality and progress of mechanical installations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during construction and installation phases.
- Manage project costs for mechanical systems, including procurement of materials and equipment.
- Provide cost estimates and monitor expenses, ensuring adherence to the approved budget.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for the timely delivery of materials and services.
- Ensure all mechanical systems and installations comply with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental guidelines.
- Promote and enforce safety standards on-site, ensuring that workers adhere to safety protocols.
- Ensure all documentation for mechanical systems is up to date and accurate for regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all mechanical engineering-related inquiries and concerns.
- Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for senior management and clients.
- Maintain open communication channels with all team members and contractors to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Identify and resolve mechanical-related issues and challenges promptly and efficiently.
- Provide innovative solutions to improve system performance, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Oversee the final testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems to the client.
- Ensure proper documentation, training, and support are provided for ongoing maintenance and operation of mechanical systems.
