Mechanical Site Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Site Engineer for a short-term 2-month contract to oversee and manage on-site mechanical works for an oil & gas or petrochemical project. The candidate will ensure that all mechanical installations, maintenance, and construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate all mechanical site activities, including installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment and piping systems
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, codes, and standards (e.g., ASME, API)
• Monitor site progress and provide regular updates to project management
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical documents
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines (civil, electrical, instrumentation)
• Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and procedures on-site
• Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure workmanship meets required standards
• Identify and resolve technical issues or delays on-site
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports
• Assist in material planning, procurement, and site logistics
• Participate in site meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
• Ensure proper documentation and handover of completed work

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3–8 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or related industrial projects
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, rotating/static equipment
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM, etc.)
• Experience with site supervision, construction, and commissioning activities
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Location: Fujairah
• Immediate availability preferred
