Mechanical Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of ceramic plant machinery including kilns, dryers, presses, ball mills, conveyors, elevators, and glazing lines.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Assist in installation, alignment, and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in ceramic presses and automation lines.
• Maintain maintenance records, job cards, and daily work logs.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and plant regulations.
• Coordinate with production teams to plan maintenance during shutdowns.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Strong understanding of ceramics plant machinery and processes.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Kilns and dryers
• Hydraulic presses
• Ball mills and mixers
• Conveyors and material handling systems.
• Gearboxes, pumps, valves, and compressors.
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in shifts and under production pressure.
