Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Med Techs to provide high-quality care to residents in an assisted living facility. The ideal candidates will have experience working with seniors and individuals with disabilities, demonstrating a genuine commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life through personalized support and attentive caregiving. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, medication management, and ensuring their safety and comfort in a respectful and professional manner.
Schedule
Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm - 10pm
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols
- Provide Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory support tailored to individual needs
- Support residents with assisted living activities to promote independence and well-being
- Operate EMR systems for documentation of care provided and resident progress
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Use equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely for resident transfers
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks
- Support residents in social activities to promote mental health and community engagement
- Document observations related to behavioral management or changes in health status
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures when necessary
- Drive residents when required for appointments or outings in accordance with facility policies
Skills
- Prior experience in nursing homes, assisted living, or home & community care preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration and vital signs monitoring
- Familiarity with dementia, Alzheimer’s care, and memory care techniques
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on resident dignity and respect
- Ability to work effectively with people with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
- Experience using EMR systems for accurate record keeping
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly using first aid skills when needed
- Physical ability to assist with transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment; capable of lifting or supporting residents as required
- Valid driver’s license is a plus for driving residents or supplies when necessary
