Medical Assistant

Shriners Children's New England has an opportunity for a Medical Assistant to join our team!

The position is day shift, Monday - Friday.

The pay range for this position is $19.69 hourly to $29.54 hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.

Under the leadership of the Outpatient Department Manager and the indirect supervision of Physicians/APPs, the Medical Assistant assists with the delivery of patient care in the clinic by maintaining clinic flow, obtains routine clinical information on patients/family, provides physical care of the patients, procures and maintains par levels of clinic supplies, and provides light clerical assistance.

Additional Medical Assistant tasks include:

Transcribing of delegated orders into the EMR
Casting/splint application, maintenance guidance and removal
Obtaining specimens, including performing venipuncture

Required:

National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technology required in 12 months
Certified Phlebotomy Technician within 12 months
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred:

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - by Certification by the American Association for Medical Assistants
Three years' experience as a Medical Assistant
Associate's degree
Two years' pediatric care experience
