Medical Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our clients' Podiatry healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support clinical operations across outpatient and inpatient settings, including hospital medicine, urgent care, dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, and emergency medicine. Your primary focus will be delivering exceptional patient service while assisting healthcare providers with clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake procedures, including recording medical history and current symptoms
• Measure and document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
• Assist with clinical tasks like medication administration, wound care, X-ray preparation, and basic life support (BLS) procedures
• Support physicians during examinations and minor procedures in outpatient clinics
• Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately for documentation of patient encounters and ICD coding for diagnoses
• Prepare patients for diagnostic tests or procedures such as X-ray or laboratory work
• Provide medical administrative support by managing patient flow

Experience

• Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in various healthcare environments including outpatient clinics or hospital settings
• Hands-on experience with EHR systems and familiarity with ICD coding standards
• Demonstrated ability to perform clinical skills like vital signs collection, medication administration, basic physiology and Phlebotomy knowledge
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to OR experience or emergency medicine are advantageous

Pay: $15.00 - $17.50 per hour
