Medical Assistant

A busy Dermatology practice is seeking a full time professional, motivated, detail oriented medical assistant to join our team. We are looking for a pleasant, positive person who loves working with people and is looking for a long term position. You must share our dedication to providing excellent customer service for our patients. This position is Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist medical providers with patient examinations or procedures including minor in office surgery.
• Performs routine test as ordered by medical professionals.
• Records patient and testing information in EHR
• Obtain chief complaint, allergies, past medical history, medication list and history of present illness and record into patient's medical record.
• Medical scribing is a huge job responsibility.
• Must be able to multi task and type.
• Answers and returns phone calls in a timely manner and properly documents calls in the patient's medical record. Manage triage line and ability to provide basic triage and advice.
• Educates/ instructs patients as instructed by provider.
• Calls local pharmacies for prescriptions as ordered by the provider and properly documents in patients medical record.
• Obtain prior authorizations for prescriptions and procedures
• Clean and stock exams rooms
• Sterilize instruments and equipment
• Other duties or tasks may be assigned

Education and Experience:

• CMA or RMA certified preferred
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a medical office setting
• Dermatology or plastic surgery experience a plus
• EHR experience
• The ability to learn in a fast paced environment
• Spanish speaking a plus
