Medical Assistant

Join our dynamic team at The Foot Doctor, PLLC, a newly established practice right next to Inova Fairfax Hospital, dedicated to providing exceptional podiatric care. We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our healthcare team and ensure the smooth operation of our clinic. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical and administrative skills and a passion for patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

**Clinical Duties:**

- Assist the podiatrist with patient examinations and procedures, including but not limited to wound care, nail treatments, and orthotic fittings.

- Prepare examination rooms by ensuring they are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

- Take and record patients' vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.

- Educate patients on foot care, postoperative care, and use of medical devices.

- Assist with minor surgical procedures.

**Administrative Duties:**

- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.

- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and maintain accurate patient records.

- Handle phone calls, answer patient inquiries, and relay messages to the podiatrist.

**Qualifications:**

- High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.

- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer applications.

- Organizational and multitasking abilities.

- Professional communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- CPR certification is a plus.

**Physical Requirements:**

- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

- Manual dexterity to operate medical equipment and perform clinical tasks.
