Medical Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting, particularly within a Level I Trauma Center. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to supporting both patients and healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional medical services.

Duties

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in a clinical environment.
• Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations.
• Manage patient service interactions, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for all patients.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with medical coding as necessary.
• Collaborate with dermatology specialists to provide care tailored to skin health needs.
• Support the clinic's operations by maintaining cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and medical-surgical procedures to assist in various patient care activities.

Skills

• Strong understanding of outpatient care processes and patient service excellence.
• Familiarity with coding practices relevant to medical billing and insurance claims.
• Knowledge of dermatology practices is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding their significance in patient assessment.
• Ability to work effectively within a Level I Trauma Center environment, demonstrating adaptability under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• A solid foundation in anatomy knowledge to assist in clinical tasks accurately.
