Medical Assistant/Receptionist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Duties

  • Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate smooth check-in and check-out processes
  • Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and current medications using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as taking patient histories, preparing exam rooms, and supporting procedures in outpatient settings
  • Support intake procedures including scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and managing referrals
  • Perform basic clinical duties like administering medications under supervision, collecting specimens, and assisting with X-ray or other diagnostic procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters, ICD coding for diagnoses, and ensure compliance with health regulations
  • Manage administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling insurance verifications, and managing patient correspondence

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding standards
  • Experience working in hospital or Level I/II trauma center environments is advantageous
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent required
  • Familiarity with inpatient and outpatient care settings including Geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Medical-surgical units, or OR experience is a plus
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service and care excellence
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
