Medical Assistant/Receptionist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Collect and document patient information, including vital signs, medical history, and insurance details.
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and supporting procedures like X-ray or medication administration.
  • Perform basic clinical duties including specimen collection, wound care support, and assisting with inpatient or outpatient procedures.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, patient intake forms, and follow-up communications to ensure smooth clinic flow.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) for billing and record-keeping purposes.
  • Support emergency situations by understanding protocols related to Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center environments, including basic life support (BLS) procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards in various settings such as hospital medicine, ICU (PICU), or medical-surgical units.
  • Handle administrative tasks like answering phones, managing correspondence, and maintaining organized patient records.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to assist in diverse clinical scenarios.
  • Proven experience in dermatology, internal medicine, urgent care, or hospital medicine environments.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems for accurate data entry and retrieval.
  • Excellent patient service skills with a friendly demeanor and clear communication abilities.
  • Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement, ICD coding accuracy, medication administration support, and specimen collection.
  • Experience working in inpatient settings or outpatient clinics within hospital or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of X-ray procedures and emergency medicine protocols is a plus.
  • Capable of multitasking effectively in fast-paced environments like Geriatrics clinics or the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit).
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams across medical-surgical units or specialty departments such as OR (Operating Room) support or internal medicine clinics.
