Medical Assistant/Receptionist

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, where you will be the friendly face and efficient coordinator at the front desk and within clinical settings. This vital role combines patient service excellence with medical administrative support, ensuring smooth operations across outpatient clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, and specialized departments like dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, and emergency medicine. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients while supporting healthcare providers with essential clinical tasks. Duties

  • Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Collect and record vital signs, patient histories, and insurance details accurately to facilitate efficient clinical workflows
  • Prepare exam rooms, assist with patient intake processes, and ensure all necessary documentation is completed thoroughly
  • Support clinical staff by performing basic medical procedures such as taking vital signs, and EKG
  • Manage appointment scheduling, coordinate referrals, and handle phone inquiries with professionalism and clarity
  • Maintain accurate medical records including ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) for billing and documentation purposes
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and uphold patient confidentiality at all times

Requirements

  • Proven experience in medical settings such as outpatient clinics, hospital units .
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative tasks such as intake processing and ICD coding
  • Ability to perform clinical duties including vital signs collection
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and those in medical-surgical or internal medicine units
  • Previous hospital experience or clinic experience preferred.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
