Hartig Drug is seeking a motivated and team oriented to fill a full time Medical Billing Specialist in Dubuque, IA. This position is responsible for the financial accountability for long term care patients, facilities, third party insurance, Medicare and Medicaid.

Essential Job Functions

· Responsible for billing for patients, long term facilities, third party insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and Hospice

· Reconciliation and adjudicate all claims and accounts

· Responsible for posting payments

· Verify insurance coverage for patients

· Prepare patient refunds

· Update medication lists for Hospice patients

· Process updates for patient changes

· Review Medicare/Medicaid reports

· Review census reports from facilities

· Provide professional and courteous communication to patients

· Other duties as assigned

· Works well in a team environment

· Portrays the company in a positive image

· Required to abide by all rules, regulations and policies of the employer

Work Hours: Full time position,approximately 40 hours weekly, non-exempt

Monday through Friday

Non–essential Job Functions

· Assist with other departments as needed

Requirements

· Pharmacy or medical billing experience preferred, Certified Pharmacy Technician is a plus

· Must have two-year degree in accounting or comparable work experience

· Must be detail oriented and precise

· Strong customer service and teamwork skills
