Medical Billing Specialist

We are seeking an experienced in-house Billing Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for insurance claims processing, denial follow-up, and ensuring accurate, timely reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit and follow up on insurance claims
• Work denials, rejections, and underpayments to resolution
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits
• Ensure accurate coding and billing (CPT, ICD)
• Communicate with patients regarding balances and insurance questions
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and payer guidelines

Qualifications

• Medical billing experience REQUIRED (applications without billing experience will not be considered)
• Experience working insurance claims and denials
• Familiarity with Medicaid and managed care plans preferred
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD coding, and billing processes
• eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
