Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office setting and possess strong administrative skills. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient patient flow and providing exceptional customer service. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for managing front desk operations, coordinating patient appointments, and maintaining accurate medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the clinic.
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointment confirmations and reminders using eClinicalWorks.
- Handle medical collections and insurance verification processes efficiently.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Utilize CPT coding and ICD-9/ICD-10 knowledge for proper billing and coding practices.
- Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism.
- Assist in the preparation of care plans and other patient-related documentation as needed.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding services, appointments, and general information with excellent phone etiquette.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance processes, and health information management practices.
- Bilingual candidates are highly desirable to enhance patient communication.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and data entry tasks (10 key typing experience is a plus).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high levels of customer service.
