Key ResponsibilitiesWith three years of experience, a lab technician is expected to be proficient and capable of handling complex tasks and potentially assisting with training or supervision.
- Sample Management: Collect, receive, label, safely store, and prepare biological, chemical, or environmental samples for testing.
- Testing and Analysis: Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests and experiments following established procedures.
- Equipment Handling: Set up, operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, performing troubleshooting as needed.
- Data and Reporting: Record test results accurately, analyze data, and prepare detailed reports for senior staff or management.
- Quality Control & Safety: Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory protocols (such as GMP - Good Manufacturing Practice or NABL standards) to ensure product integrity, quality control, and a safe work environment.
- Inventory Management: Order and maintain stock and resources, and properly dispose of hazardous materials.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with a team, which may include assisting scientists, engineers, or medical personnel, and providing guidance to junior staff or students.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: A diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Medical Lab Technology,
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting (hospital, diagnostic center, ).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in laboratory procedures, excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of medical or industry-specific terminologies.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently or in a team, good interpersonal skills, and effective written and verbal communication.
