JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Medical Scribe/Clinical Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Clinical

REPORTS TO: Physician (Mentor) and Front Desk Manager

JOB SUMMARY: The majority of your time will be spent providing accurate and thorough documentation of the patient visit in the medical record. When not actively working as a scribe you will learn to administer ancillary testing, facilitate patient flow and perform reception duties, and may assist with office procedures.

As you work alongside our physicians, you will witness countless patient encounters, gaining insight into workflow of medical care, medical terminology, managing the doctor-patient relationship and medical decision making. Your additional clinic duties will provide you with excellent exposure to other aspects of patient care, especially the opportunity to directly interact with patients.

Our clinic provides the unique opportunity to develop mentorship relationships with our physicians who can provide advice for medical school applications and career guidance. This allows us to provide meaningful letters of recommendation. A high percentage of our scribes are accepted into medical school.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Undergraduate degree w/ completion of pre medicine/science coursework. Preferably on a gap year pursuing admission to graduate medical program (MD, DO, PA).

4. Excellent verbal and written communication.
5. Team-orientation.
6. Management of multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Strong organization with attention to detail.
8. Computer literacy with proficient typing skills.

PHYSICAL ABILIITES:
1. Must be able to walk/stand for eight hours.
2. Must be able to type or write legibly in a dimly-lit setting.
3. Must be able to hear softly spoken words.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour
