Role Purpose
The MEP Construction Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all mechanical and electrical construction activities on-site, including planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of systems such as HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, lighting, power distribution, and low-current systems. The role ensures that MEP works are executed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Key Accountabilities

Lead and manage the MEP construction team, including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors, across all project phases.

Review MEP designs, drawings, specifications, and method statements to ensure constructability and accuracy.

Plan and schedule MEP construction activities in coordination with civil and architectural disciplines to ensure smooth execution.

Monitor site work progress, manage resources efficiently, and ensure timely completion of all MEP systems.

Ensure installations comply with local regulations, project requirements, and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, NEC, IEC, SMACNA, etc.).

Manage the procurement of MEP materials and equipment in collaboration with the procurement team.

Supervise testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical and electrical systems.

Identify risks and delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain progress, quality, and cost control.

Participate in project meetings, liaise with clients, consultants, and senior management, and provide technical updates.

Ensure the implementation of QA/QC procedures and HSE standards across all MEP site activities.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.

Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP construction, with at least 5 years in a managerial role on large-scale projects.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.) and electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, low-current, etc.).

Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC, NEC, IEC).

Proven leadership and team management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.

Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.

Proficient in project planning and management tools (Primavera, MS Project) and design software (AutoCAD, Revit preferred).

PMP certification or equivalent professional credentials is an advantage.
