Job summary
We’re looking for an organised, technically-savvy MEP Project Coordinator to support delivery of mechanical, electrical and plumbing works for Mima Construction’s electrical equipment and construction projects. You’ll coordinate between clients, design teams, contractors and site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to specification — while working from our Karachi office.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day project activities for assigned MEP packages from award to closeout.
- Prepare, track and maintain project schedules (MS Project / Primavera) and issue progress updates to stakeholders.
- Manage submittals: review, log, follow up on approvals for drawings, samples, material data sheets and shop drawings.
- Liaise between design engineers, contractors and site engineers to resolve technical/coordination issues.
- Maintain project documentation: drawings, RFI logs, meeting minutes, change orders, site instructions and QA/QC records.
- Raise and follow up RFIs and technical clarifications; ensure timely resolution and documentation.
- Conduct regular coordination meetings and minute actions; ensure actions are closed on time.
- Support cost control: track variations, prepare input for change orders and assist with invoice review.
- Support health, safety and quality processes — ensure contractors comply with company HSE and quality procedures.
- Assist with commissioning coordination, punch-list generation and project handover documentation.
- Conduct occasional site visits to verify progress, quality and coordination
Success metrics / KPIs
- On-time delivery of project milestones (schedule adherence).
- Low number of outstanding RFIs / coordination issues at handover.
- Accurate and up-to-date project documentation and submittal register.
Required qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field (or relevant diploma with strong experience).
- 2–4 years’ experience in MEP coordination or project support in construction, preferably with exposure to electrical equipment projects.
- Hands-on experience with project scheduling tools (Microsoft Project, Primavera) and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with reading MEP drawings, single-line diagrams and basic electrical specifications.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred / nice-to-have
- Experience with AutoCAD (reading/marking up drawings).
- Prior experience in electrical equipment supply/installation or with contractors in the electrical/construction sector.
- Knowledge of local Pakistani codes/standards and typical construction practices.
- Certifications in project management or MEP coordination.
