Fabrication Coordinator / Vendor Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to oversee and manage our outsourced metal fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact between our company and fabrication vendors, ensuring that all jobs are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with outsourced fabrication vendors to manage ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, and requirements before submission to vendors.
• Negotiate quotations, timelines, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Ensure quality control by verifying materials, workmanship, and finished products.
• Maintain relationships with multiple vendors to ensure competitive pricing and reliability.
• Track project progress, resolve issues, and provide timely updates to management.
• Work closely with internal teams (engineering, procurement, logistics) to align project requirements.
• Monitor inventory and ensure fabricated items are delivered on time for project execution.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in metal fabrication, vendor management, or supply chain coordination.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes (cutting, welding, machining, sheet metal work).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in MS Office; CAD knowledge is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with outsourced vendors in engineering/manufacturing.
• Knowledge of quality assurance standards in fabrication.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
