The MEP Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) material and equipment procurement activities. The role ensures timely sourcing, technical and commercial evaluation, vendor coordination, and delivery to meet project schedules and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Planning & Coordination

  • Review MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQ to identify procurement requirements.
  • Prepare material procurement schedules aligned with project timelines.
  • Coordinate with MEP engineers, project managers, and consultants for technical approvals.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and project requirements.

2. Sourcing & Vendor Management

  • Identify and prequalify suppliers/subcontractors for MEP materials and services.
  • Obtain quotations, conduct price analysis, and negotiate pricing and terms.
  • Evaluate vendor capability in terms of quality, delivery, and reliability.
  • Maintain and update approved vendor lists.

3. Technical & Commercial Evaluation

  • Compare suppliers’ quotations based on technical specifications and commercial terms.
  • Coordinate with design and technical teams to finalize materials and brands.
  • Prepare technical submittals for consultant/engineer approval.
  • Ensure selected materials meet project specifications and standards.

4. Purchase & Documentation

  • Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure acknowledgment from suppliers.
  • Track material deliveries to site and manage logistics coordination.
  • Maintain accurate procurement logs, documentation, and delivery records.
  • Monitor supplier performance and report any discrepancies or delays.

5. Cost Control & Optimization

  • Monitor material costs to align with budgeted estimates.
  • Suggest cost-saving alternatives while maintaining quality standards.
  • Support quantity surveying and cost control teams with procurement data.

6. Communication & Reporting

  • Provide regular procurement status reports to management and project teams.
  • Coordinate with site teams for material inspections and delivery schedules.
  • Handle any procurement-related claims, replacements, or warranty issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
  • 3–7 years of experience in MEP procurement (construction or contracting sector preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting materials.
  • Familiarity with local/international suppliers and procurement practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / similar), and AutoCAD (advantageous).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
