- Job Summary
The MEP Procurement Manager is responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor management, cost optimization, and timely procurement of MEP materials and services for large-scale construction projects. The role requires strong expertise in Indian suppliers, market trends, and contract negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing & Fire Fighting systems.
- Manage end-to-end procurement lifecycle: vendor prequalification, RFQ, techno-commercial evaluation, negotiation, and order placement.
- Maintain strong relationships with Indian manufacturers, distributors, and OEMs.
- Analyze market trends and control material costs without compromising quality.
- Coordinate with Project, Design, Planning, and Finance teams to align procurement schedules.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, QA/QC standards, and contract terms.
- Monitor vendor performance, delivery timelines, and resolve supply-chain issues.
- Prepare and control procurement budgets, cash flow forecasts, and cost reports.
- Lead and mentor procurement engineers and executives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory norms, and ethical procurement practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 15 years of MEP procurement experience in construction, EPC, or real estate projects.
- Strong knowledge of Indian MEP suppliers, brands, and material costs.
- Excellent negotiation, contract management, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Excel, and procurement software.
