The MEP Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the commercial, contractual, and cost aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works throughout a construction project lifecycle. This includes estimation, quantity take-offs, cost control, tendering, variations, billing, and final accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and cost estimates for MEP works.
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify project requirements.
- Prepare and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow to ensure financial control.
- Prepare variation orders (VOs), claims, and final accounts.
- Manage interim payment applications and certify subcontractor payments.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and clients on commercial matters.
- Maintain records of contracts, variations, cost reports, and project documentation.
- Support procurement activities and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in MEP Quantity Surveying.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV systems.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, CostX, or other QS software.
- Knowledge of contracts, procurement, cost control, and tendering procedures.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
