Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of MEP engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Assign tasks, set performance goals, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
- Coordinate with HR on recruitment, training, and development of team members.
Project Planning & Execution:
- Oversee the entire MEP project lifecycle from conceptual design and tender through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for MEP works.
- Coordinate closely with the Project Manager, civil/structural team, architects, and clients.
- Chair MEP coordination meetings and resolve technical and logistical issues.
Technical Oversight & Design Review:
- Review and approve MEP design drawings, calculations, specifications, and BIM models for accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and solutions for complex MEP challenges.
- Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize cost and performance.
Coordination & Collaboration:
- Manage the interface between Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and other building systems.
- Lead the development and clash detection process using BIM (Revit, Navisworks) to resolve conflicts before construction.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
Site Supervision & Quality Control:
- Oversee the installation of MEP systems on-site to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits.
- Review and approve method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings.
- Resolve site-based technical queries and non-conformances.
Health, Safety & Environment:
- Champion a zero-accident culture by enforcing all company and site-specific HSE policies.
- Ensure all MEP activities are planned and executed with the highest regard for worker and public safety.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related field).
- Minimum of [4-5] years of progressive experience in MEP engineering, with at least [3-5] years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing MEP systems on medium to large-scale construction projects (e.g., high rise residential,).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in BIM software, particularly Autodesk Revit and Navisworks Manage.
- Strong skills in MS Office Suite and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Excellent understanding of building services systems, including HVAC, electrical power & lighting, plumbing, and fire protection.
