Merchandise Planner - BinSina Pharmacy

Job Summary

The Merchandise Planner is responsible for optimizing stock availability, sales performance, and inventory investment across pharmacy categories including prescription medicines, OTC, skincare, wellness, and FMCG. This role partners closely with Buying, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing to ensure the right products are in the right stores at the right time, maximizing sales, margin, and customer satisfaction while minimizing stock risk and expiry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop seasonal, monthly, and weekly sales and stock plans by category, brand, and store cluster.
  • Forecast demand considering promotions, seasonality, new launches, and historical trends.
  • Build Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans aligned with business budgets and working capital targets.
  • Monitor stock levels, sell-through, weeks of cover, and expiry risks to ensure optimal availability.
  • Drive replenishment strategies for fast-moving SKUs and critical healthcare products.
  • Proactively manage slow-moving, short-dated, and obsolete stock through markdowns, transfers, and RTVs.
  • Track KPIs including sales, margin, stock turn, availability, and shrinkage.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Analyze store, category, and SKU performance to identify risks and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Buyers to optimize assortments and intake plans.
  • Work with Supply Chain and Operations teams to improve replenishment, allocation, and store execution.
  • Support Marketing and VM teams with data for promotions, campaigns, and launches.
  • Support store clustering and ranging strategies based on demographics and sales performance.
  • Recommend SKU rationalization, range expansion, and space optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and expiry management standards for pharmacy products.
  • Creating the planogram of the products / brands, keeping them up to date
  • Create visually engaging displays that showcase products in a compelling and attractive manner, while adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Regularly refresh and update displays to maintain visual interest and reflect seasonal or thematic changes.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in merchandising and incorporate innovative ideas into store displays.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of merchandising efforts and adjust as needed.


Qualifications & Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Retail Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field. However, relevant experience or a combination of education and experience may also be accepted.
  • Minimum 2-3 years or experience using spaceman software or similar and merchandising field.

  • Knowing trends, analytical thinking, creativity, visual standards.
