The merchandiser is responsible for analyzing sales and market trends, managing product inventory and placement, creating attractive in-store displays to maximize sales and customer engagement, implementing promotions and pricing strategies, and coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and retail staff to ensure products are available, well-presented, and meet company goals.
Responsibilities
Sales & Market Analysis:

Analyze sales figures, market trends, and customer behavior to identify product needs and forecast demand.

Research new products and market opportunities.

Track the status of seasonal and fashion orders, ensuring goods are received on time as per launch schedules.

Produce and present accurate sales projections, reports, and performance dashboards.

Monitor sales performance against budget, last week, and last year, sharing regular updates with management.
Inventory Management:

Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure product availability.

Stock shelves, replenish merchandise, and track inventory movement.

Manage stock movement between stores, ensuring optimal product allocation based on sales trends and store performance.
Display & Promotion:

Plan and create eye-catching product displays and promotional setups to attract customers.

Implement product promotions, price changes, and clearance events.
Vendor & Supplier Relations:

Liaise with buyers, suppliers, and manufacturers to negotiate prices and manage product deliveries.

Coordinate with vendors to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time.

Coordinate with the Brand Manager on product launches, visual merchandising, and promotional campaigns to enhance brand visibility and sales.
Customer & Store Relations:

Provide customer service and information to retail store staff.

Ensure the retail environment is conducive to maximizing sales and customer satisfaction.
Strategy & Planning:

Assist in development and implementation of merchandising strategies and sales strategies.

Manage budgets and prepare sales projections.

Prepare and analyze replenishment reports and communicate findings with the Brand Manager and store teams.

Plan product ranges and prepare sales and stock plans in coordination with the Brand Manager.

Monitor sales performance and analyze bestsellers, fast-moving, and slow-moving items, recommending strategies such as price adjustments or promotions where necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a merchandising role; prior luxury fashion retail experience preferred.

Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to forecast and plan effectively.

Excellent reporting, data analysis, and stock management skills.

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and maintain brand communication.

Highly detail-oriented, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
