Job Summary

The Metal Fabricator Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all fabrication activities in the workshop or site. The role ensures that structural steel and architectural metal works are fabricated according to approved drawings, quality standards, and project timelines.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupervision & Production

• Supervise daily fabrication activities including cutting, welding, grinding, and assembly of metal components.
• Lead and manage a team of fabricators, welders, and helpers.
• Allocate tasks and ensure productivity targets are achieved.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, IFC drawings, and fabrication details.

Quality Control

• Ensure all fabrication work complies with approved drawings and project specifications.
• Monitor welding quality, fit-up, and dimensional accuracy.
• Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections and approvals.

Planning & Coordination

• Plan fabrication schedules in coordination with production and project teams.
• Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available before starting work.
• Coordinate with site teams for delivery and installation requirements.

Health & Safety

• Enforce safety procedures and ensure all workers follow HSE guidelines.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of equipment.

Reporting

• Report daily progress, manpower status, and production output.
• Highlight delays, technical issues, or material shortages to management.

Requirements

• Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechanical / Fabrication or related field.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in steel fabrication or architectural metal works.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC) and fabrication processes.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Experience in UAE/GCC construction projects preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
