Job Summary
The MRD Executive is responsible for maintaining, organizing, retrieving, and safeguarding patient medical records in accordance with hospital policies, legal standards, and confidentiality requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Records Management
- Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date inpatient and outpatient medical records.
- Assemble, analyze, and check records for completeness after patient discharge.
- Ensure proper filing, indexing, coding, and storage of medical records.
Confidentiality & Compliance
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medico-legal requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Handle medico-legal cases (MLC) records as per protocol.
Record Retrieval & Coordination
- Retrieve medical records for doctors, departments, audits, insurance, and legal purposes.
- Coordinate with clinical departments for missing or incomplete documentation.
- Assist in providing records for insurance claims, court cases, and internal audits.
Data Entry & Digital Records
- Enter patient and record details accurately in HIS / EMR systems.
- Support digitization and scanning of medical records.
- Maintain backup and archival systems as per hospital policy.
Reporting & Audit Support
- Prepare daily, monthly, and annual MRD reports.
- Assist during NABH, NABL, internal, and external audits.
- Maintain record retention and destruction schedules.
General Duties
- Respond to patient or authorized requests for medical records.
- Maintain MRD cleanliness and organized storage.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by management.
Qualifications & SkillsEducational Qualification
- Degree/Diploma in Medical Records Science / Health Information Management
- (or)
- Any graduate with relevant MRD experience
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in hospital MRD (preferred)
Skills Required
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with HIS / EMR systems
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards
Working Conditions
- Hospital-based role
- Shift duties as per hospital requirement
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
