Multimedia e-Book Designer / Interactive ePub Specialist

Project Summary:
We want to turn our manuscript, images, and video/audio files into a polished, interactive e-book (ePub or Apple Books format). The book should support embedded media (videos, audio), maintain a consistent visual style, and work well on tablets/phones/reading apps.

Key Responsibilities:

• Layout and design of the e-book (chapters, headers, image/video placement)
• Embed videos and audio (or create media placeholders with play controls)
• Ensure responsive display on various devices
• Convert and export final files (ePub, Apple Books, possibly alternate formats)
• Test across major platforms (iOS, Android, Kindle, etc.)
• Provide a version you can update in the future (so you can replace media or text)
• Deliver a clean PDF version for preview/sharing

Deliverables:

• Final interactive ePub (or Apple Books) file
• High-quality PDF (for sharing, preview)
• Source files or project files (so revisions are possible)
• A short guide/instructions on how to swap or update videos, images, or text
• Proof of testing (screenshots or test results on devices)

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with e-book formats: ePub3, fixed layout, interactive ePub
• Knowledge of embedding media (video/audio)
• Tools: Apple Pages, Adobe InDesign (interactive), Kotobee Author, PubCoder, or equivalent
• Familiarity with different reading platforms (Apple Books, Android readers, Kindle)
• Strong design sensibility (fonts, spacing, image layout)
• Portfolio of past interactive e-books or multimedia digital publications

Must be local to Cape Coral, FL or Fort Myers,FL

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
