Job Summary
Performs complex (journey-level) multimedia operation and production work. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Serves as primary creator of agency original video/media productions related to programs, projects, and resources. In consultation with the Communications Officer, work involves design, preparation, and production of audiovisual materials using photographic, audio, and visual equipment. This position reports to the Assistant State Librarian. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Tasks
Plans, designs, and directs audiovisual productions.
Completes audio mastering, editing, effects, and mixing.
Works with Communications Officer, staff, and outside participants to create established and new media campaigns.
Assists Communications Officer in the monitoring of social media.
Assists with audiovisual equipment for training and public information presentations.
Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
Comply with all applicable agency policies and procedures including safety and standards of conduct.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Veterans, Reservist or Guardsmen with an MOS or additional duties that fall in the fields no applicable MOS for related fields pertaining to the minimum experience requirements may meet the minimum qualifications for this position and are highly encouraged to apply. Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in radio, television, film, communications, or a related field
Two years of experience in audiovisual production
Experience with standard desktop software.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience producing state agency or non-profit films.
Experience scripting and directing videos
Experience with Podcast production
Experience with Adobe Premier Pro
Experience collaborating with clients
Experience with managing production scheduling and making production arrangements
Experience developing multimedia products for social media
Experience researching and interviewing subjects.
Experience with graphic design and layout.
Experience with Microsoft office products

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to operate audiovisual equipment; to interpret instrument and meter readings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints; and to communicate effectively.
Knowledge of video production, editing, recording, computer graphics, and animation; of quality multimedia; of the use and application of repair and maintenance test equipment and tools.
Skill in the use of production, recording, developing, testing, and maintenance of audiovisual equipment; and in the use of a computer and applicable software.
Ability to operate audiovisual equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to self-shoot

Environmental/Physical Conditions
Normal office work environment and may have exposure to dust and environmental allergens consistent with normal business activities and human contact. Mostly sedentary in nature but it may involve moving; standing; pulling and pushing kneeling, stooping and bending; and performing tasks requiring fine motor skill. Must be able to work extended periods at a computer. May require working extended hours and some evenings and weekends as needed. Normal cognitive abilities include the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies and interpret data. Travel (approx. 10%, some overnight, will be required to shoot videos and assist with agency events.). Occasional necessity to move items weighing up to 50 pounds

Other Requirements
Submit portfolio of video and film productions, writing samples including scripts, graphics, and any other relevant materials
Applicants selected for interviews will be required to provide a 10-minute overview describing how they would approach filming an assigned topic. The topic will be provided at the time of the interview.

Reporting Relationships
This position has no supervisory responsibility and is supervised by the Assistant State Librarian.
