1. Position Summary
The NDT Level III Inspector shall be responsible for developing, approving, implementing, and controlling all Non-Destructive Testing activities in compliance with applicable codes, standards, client specifications, and company quality requirements. The role covers NDT procedure approval, technique qualification, technician certification, inspection data review, ASME audit support, client coordination, and resolution of site-level technical issues.
The position requires strong technical expertise in conventional and advanced NDT methods including RT, UT, MT, PT, VT, PAUT, and TOFD for oil & gas, pressure vessels, piping, structural fabrication, process modules, offshore structures, and ASME code-stamped works.
2. Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesA. NDT Procedure Development & Approval
· Develop, qualify, review, and approve NDT procedures as per project, client, and code requirements.
· Prepare and maintain company written practice in line with ASNT / SNT-TC-1A / ISO 9712, as applicable.
· Prepare and maintain all NDT, PWHT, and project-specific procedures in accordance with current editions of ASME, AWS, API, ASTM, EEMUA, BS, EN, ISO, and client specifications.
· Develop, prepare, and approve procedures for advanced NDT services including PAUT, TOFD, and advanced UT techniques.
· Ensure NDT techniques and acceptance criteria are aligned with project specifications and governing standards.
B. Technical Qualification & Procedure Demonstration
· Establish and qualify NDT techniques in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
· Conduct procedure demonstrations by validating PAUT and TOFD blocks as per customer requirements and codes/standards.
· Prepare demonstration records, technique sheets, qualification records, and supporting technical documentation.
· Support ASME audits through procedure demonstration, demo records preparation, and participation in pre-audit and final audit activities.
· Attend audits with ASME team leaders, third-party auditors, and client representatives across UAE and Middle East facilities.
C. Inspection Review, Data Interpretation & Reporting
· Review and approve NDT inspection reports, certificates, radiographs, PAUT/TOFD data, UT reports, MT/PT reports, and related inspection records.
· Conduct detailed interpretation of inspection data to confirm accuracy, compliance, and traceability.
· Ensure inspection results meet applicable code acceptance criteria and client requirements.
· Perform film review and report review for ASME, AWS, and API jobs.
· Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure timely reporting to project and client teams.
D. Supervision, Training & Certification
· Train, supervise, and technically guide Level I and Level II NDT technicians as per company written practice.
· Ensure personnel fully understand procedures, techniques, equipment use, reporting requirements, and acceptance criteria.
· Provide training and certification of Level I / Level II NDT technicians as per code and company requirements.
· Maintain and review technician qualification files, certification records, eye test records, experience records, and performance records.
· Supervise NDT Level III training and certification activities where applicable.
E. NDT Operations Management
· Oversee all NDT operations within the company and ensure effective execution at workshop and site locations.
· Manage NDT technicians and provide leadership, guidance, manpower planning support, and technical direction.
· Coordinate with QA/QC, production, welding, planning, and project teams to integrate NDT activities into overall quality and production workflows.
· Ensure NDT activities are completed within project schedule requirements without compromising quality and compliance.
· Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify integrity, reliability, and compliance of NDT equipment and processes.
F. Technical Support, NCRs & Client Coordination
· Provide technical support to project teams, including interpretation of NDT codes, standards, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
· Resolve day-to-day site problems in coordination with clients and internal project teams.
· Carry out investigations and provide correction, corrective action, and preventive action for non-conformances and customer complaints.
· Maintain relationships with existing and new clients and coordinate on technician issues, inspection concerns, complaints, and technical clarifications.
· Support business development with project requirements, technical scope, budgets, and bidding inputs.
G. Audits, Compliance & Accreditation
· Maintain and audit quality manuals, NDT documentation, written practice, and technical records.
· Carry out technical audits, witness monitoring, and internal audits with the team.
· Prepare documentation for ASME, ISO, OHSAS/HSE, client, and accreditation audits.
· Assist inspectors during practical demonstrations and respond to auditors technical questions.
· Support the company in obtaining new approvals, client qualifications, and accreditations.
H. Additional Inspection Services Exposure
· Support API 510 pressure vessel inspection, API 570 piping inspection, and API 653 tank inspection services where qualified.
· Support CSWIP / welding inspection activities where qualified.
· Support BGAS / painting inspection activities where qualified.
· Provide NDT Level III services to ASME code-stamped fabrication companies across UAE and Middle East regions.
3. Required Qualifications
· Certified ASNT NDT Level III in relevant NDT methods.
· ISO 9712 / PCN / EN ISO 9712 certification will be an advantage.
· Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Welding, or relevant Engineering discipline preferred.
· API 510 / API 570 / API 653 certification will be an added advantage.
· CSWIP / AWS-CWI / BGAS certification will be an added advantage.
4. Required Technical Competencies
· Strong knowledge of conventional NDT methods: RT, UT, MT, PT, and VT.
· Strong knowledge of advanced NDT methods: PAUT, TOFD, and advanced UT.
· Practical understanding of welding processes, welding defects, material behavior, pressure vessel fabrication, piping fabrication, structural fabrication, and ASME code-stamped work.
· Ability to interpret codes, standards, client specifications, and acceptance criteria.
· Strong capability in radiographic film review and advanced NDT data interpretation.
5. Required Codes & Standards Knowledge
· ASME Section V, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3 / B31.1, and ASME Section IX.
· AWS D1.1 and related structural welding inspection requirements.
· API 510, API 570, API 653, and relevant API inspection requirements.
· ASTM NDT standards, ISO / EN NDT standards, BS standards, EEMUA standards, and client-specific oil & gas specifications.
6. Required Experience
· Minimum 8 to 10 years of total NDT experience.
· Minimum 3 years in NDT Level III role preferred.
· Experience in oil & gas, offshore structures, pressure vessels, piping, process modules, FPSO modules, and ASME fabrication shops.
· Prior experience in UAE / Middle East fabrication industry preferred.
· Experience in handling ASME audits, client approval audits, and accreditation audits is essential.

10. Recruitment Summary
We are seeking an experienced NDT Level III Inspector to lead and control all NDT activities, including procedure development, technique qualification, advanced NDT procedure approval, technician certification, inspection data review, ASME audit support, client coordination, and technical problem resolution. The candidate shall have strong experience in ASME, AWS, API, ASTM, EN/ISO standards and hands-on expertise in RT, UT, MT, PT, VT, PAUT, and TOFD. Experience in oil & gas fabrication, pressure vessels, piping, offshore structures, process modules, FPSO modules, and ASME code-stamped fabrication is essential.
Pay: AED13,000.00 - AED18,000.00 per hour
