As a NEPA Specialist supporting our Idaho offices, you will work with a team to prepare National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other environmental documentation for transportation and infrastructure projects.

Prepare NEPA documents (e.g., Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements)
- Participate in field studies, collecting and organizing data
- Analyze environmental data to quantify and document potential project impacts
- Draft, review, and revise technical environmental resource reports
- Coordinate with state and federal government agencies
- Participate in public and stakeholder outreach
- Work closely with clients in a document production role
- Support senior environmental staff in project management tasks, including developing and managing scopes, budgets, schedules, and quality of service
A prospective candidate should be detail-oriented, contribute to a positive team culture, and be able to produce accurate information under tight deadlines and budgets. Other requirements include:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, environmental policy, natural resources, or a related field
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of NEPA policy and procedures or 1-3+ years of experience preparing NEPA documents
- Ability to interpret and apply federal and state environmental regulations (e.g., CWA, ESA, NHPA, etc.)
- Experience in geospatial analysis and mapping (ArcGIS) (preferred)
- Ability to work both individually and collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize and track tasks across multiple projects
- Ability and willingness to perform field tasks in varying weather and terrain conditions
- Ability to travel, as needed, and be flexible with changes in work schedule
- Desire and ability to learn new skills
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
