Network Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Network Engineer with strong foundational knowledge in networking (CCNA level) and hands-on experience in building and testing network labs. The ideal candidate will have practical expertise in configuring and troubleshooting various network technologies, mid-level Linux administration skills, and a solid understanding of VPN/IPSec. Exposure to scripting and cellular modem configurations will be considered an added advantage.

The role also requires strong customer engagement skills for implementing solutions at client sites, including design discussions, documentation, knowledge transfer, and post-implementation support.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIESMust Have,

• Design, configure, and maintain lab environments for testing different network scenarios (e.g., VLANs, trunking, firewalling, VRRP, port channel, DHCP, static & dynamic routing, traffic shaping/QoS, dynamic DNS).
• Implement and troubleshoot VPN technologies including IPSec, DMVPN (Dynamic Multipoint VPN), site-to-site, and remote access.
• Configure and manage SD-WAN solutions including policies, routing, and performance monitoring.
• Work with Linux systems for networking-related tasks, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Interpret and use Linux troubleshooting tools such as tcpdump, SSH, Telnet, traceroute for diagnostics.
• Support testing and validation of network products and solutions before deployment.
• Create and maintain network documentation (topologies, test cases, and configurations).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for product testing and performance validation.
• Customer-facing implementations,
• Participate in discussions with customers to understand requirements and propose network designs.
• Create and present design diagrams and deployment plans showing how our products will integrate at customer premises.
• Conduct knowledge transfer (KT) sessions with customer teams post-deployment.
• Provide ongoing technical support to customers after implementation.

Good To Have,

• Experience in shell scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of cellular networking, modems, and AT-commands.
• Understanding of Network Monitoring & Management Systems (NMS) such as SolarWinds, ManageEngine, PRTG, and Syslog servers.
• Exposure to advanced firewalling, load balancing, or multi-vendor WAN optimization.

SKILLSET REQUIREMENT

• CCNA or CCNP level knowledge of networking concepts and protocols,
• Mid-level knowledge of Linux system administration (tools, services and troubleshooting),
• Strong hands-on experience with SD-WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, firewall basics, and DMVPN.
• Familiarity with lab setups for testing different network features.
• Strong understanding of VPNs (IPSec, DMVPN) and secure connectivity.
• Ability to interact with customers professionally, deliver design documentation, and perform on-site implementations.
