Key Responsibilities:
1. Network Design & Implementation
- Plan, design, and deploy wired and wireless networks for both IT and OT systems in the plant.
- Configure routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and VPN systems.
- Ensure network redundancy and high availability for critical plant systems.
2. Network Maintenance & Monitoring
- Monitor network performance using network management tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, VLAN).
- Maintain network documentation, IP addressing schemes, and topology diagrams.
3. Cybersecurity & Access Control
- Implement and maintain network security policies, firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Control access to production and administrative networks.
- Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments and coordinate with IT security audits.
4. Support for Production Systems
- Ensure seamless connectivity for PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and other OT systems in production.
- Coordinate with automation and E&I teams for integration of plant devices with network infrastructure.
- Support remote monitoring and control of production systems as required.
5. Backup, Recovery & Documentation
- Ensure proper backup of network configurations and critical data.
- Maintain network-related SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and incident reports.
- Provide recommendations for network upgrades and improvements.
6. Vendor & Team Coordination
- Coordinate with external vendors for network hardware, installation, and maintenance contracts.
- Provide technical support and guidance to IT support staff.
- Conduct training sessions on network usage, policies, and security awareness.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.
- Certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are preferred.
Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in network administration/engineering, preferably in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Experience with industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP) is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, VLAN, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
- Familiarity with firewalls, switches, wireless controllers, and network monitoring tools.
- Understanding of OT network integration with IT infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting and security best practices.
