Network Engineer

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous optimization of our complex enterprise network infrastructure. Your key responsibilities include:

· Designing, implementing, and managing scalable and highly available network architectures

· Monitoring network performance and ensuring system availability, stability, and reliability

· Installing, configuring, and maintaining network devices and services such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN solutions

· Performing regular network maintenance, system upgrades, and security updates, including patches, hotfixes, and configuration changes

· Troubleshooting and resolving network-related incidents and problems in a timely and structured manner

· Collaborating closely with network architects and other IT teams to optimize network designs and processes

· Advising internal departments and external customers on network infrastructure design, development, and operational topics

· Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to team members and stakeholders

· Participating in on-call rotations and scheduled work outside standard business hours for maintenance activities or technical changes

· Creating, maintaining, and updating network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures

· Ensuring compliance with network security standards, policies, and best practices

· Continuously staying informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and innovations in network engineering

· Additional tasks can be assigned at any time

Your Profile

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification

· Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering within complex, enterprise IT environments

· ITILv4 Foundation certification

· Fluent German language skills (at least B1 level) as well as fluent English skills (at least B1 level)

· In-depth knowledge of network protocols, technologies, and services such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS

· Practical experience with enterprise-class network hardware, ideally from vendors such as Palo Alto, Juniper, Fortinet (FortiGate), and Arista

· Proficiency in using network monitoring, diagnostics, and performance analysis tools

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail

· Very high willingness to learn, strong resilience, and flexibility in a dynamic IT environment

· A proactive mindset with a strong drive for continuous improvement and optimization of existing solutions

· Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and manage priorities effectively

· Excellent communication skills, a strong team-oriented mindset in an international environment and the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly ---

Preferred Qualifications

· Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, PCNSE) are considered a plus
