Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for Federal Workers Compensation patients

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive care for Federal Workers Compensation patients. In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality medical assessments, treatment plans, and ongoing management to individuals with work-related injuries and disabilities. Your expertise will ensure patients receive timely, effective care while adhering to federal regulations and workers' compensation law. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' recovery journeys within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews tailored to workers’ compensation cases
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management
  • Manage acute and chronic patients
  • Utilize accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for case management to optimize patient outcomes
  • Educate patients on injury prevention, recovery strategies, and health coaching tailored to their specific occupational needs
  • Referral or perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing, sonography, medical imaging, to support clinical decision-making

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with appropriate certification for practicing in the designated jurisdiction
  • Proven experience in occupational health or workers’ compensation law preferred; familiarity with federal regulations highly desirable
  • Strong clinical skills including trauma center experience (Level I or II), emergency medicine, urgent care, or hospital medicine settings
  • Proficiency in telehealth experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-10) for accurate billing and documentation purposes
  • Experience with procedures of basic life support
  • Ability to perform patient assessments across diverse individuals with disabilities
  • Excellent communication skills for triage calls, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and infection control standards in all clinical activities

Pay: $60.00 per hour
