Nursing Support Rep

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Nursing Support Representative, you will be the primary non-clinical point of contact, dedicated to assisting health care consumers, patients, survivors, families, caregivers, and physicians. Your main objective will be to connect them with essential resources and provide navigation support throughout the cancer continuum.

Every day, you will identify the unique needs of individuals engaging with our Memorial Center for Cancer Support. You will proactively provide comprehensive information about our services and processes, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience for all.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a strong ability to identify and address non-clinical needs, and a compassionate approach to guiding individuals through a complex healthcare journey.
  • Acts as a receptionist and communication liaison for the department.
  • Answers the patient call system and directs the nursing team to assist.
  • Transcribes physician orders.
  • Orders labs, diets and tests.
  • Collaborates with the nursing team to expedite the admission, transfer and discharge of the patients.
  • Attends and participates in meetings. Prepares meeting agenda and supporting materials, records and distributes meeting minutes, follows up on item assignments and promotes communication to other stakeholders.
Shift: Days
Schedule: Monday - Friday

Job Requirements

Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three years of secretarial experience or a combination of secretarial and clerical experience, with a minimum of two years secretarial experience.
Preferred
  • Healthcare experience
  • Administrative Assistant experience

Pay Range

$18.96 - $26.78 /hour
