Office Coordinator

The Office Coordinator, as part of the Faith in Action team, is responsible for finance, donor acknowledgement and other back-office functions and supports the organization through a variety of tasks. The office coordinator uses a high degree of judgment and discretion in the handling of financial materials and confidential information. This is a part-time position and reports to the Executive Director.

Finance and Audit:

· Track checks on income log and enter into donor database entry.

· Prepare bank deposits.

· Assist with an annual audit as directed.

· Track and record documentation for gift card and credit card activity.

· Reconcile credit card statements in a timely manner monthly.

· Implement new reporting or changes in reporting as needed by audit reviews.

· Tally monthly activity as required.

Office:

· Maintain office files and ensure files are organized and updated as necessary.

· Support the Director with board committee initiatives.

· Properly store previous fiscal year information.

· Maintain office equipment and coordinate maintenance as needed.

· Maintain FIA annual calendar.

· Assist with other back-office functions as requested and able.

Development and Outreach:

· Maintain donor database and handle donation acknowledgments.

· Support office tasks during fundraising and marketing events.

· Create fundraising or marketing materials as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

· Handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.

· Assist in special projects as assigned,

Preferred Qualifications:

· 1-2 years of experience in a non-profit or office setting

· Excellent written and communication skills

· Basic understanding of accounting and financial transactions

· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple priorities

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ability to learn new software

· Successful experience working with diverse groups of people

· Excellent word processing skills, proofreading abilities, and able to work well with volunteers.

Hours and Location:

This is a part-time position, 15 to 18 hours a week, with a flexible schedule generally during Faith In Action office hours. Hours may vary due to FIA projects and programs throughout the year. Very occasionally there may be evening and weekend hours. This position is based in the Faith In Action Chelsea office and may occasionally work in the Dexter office.

Job Title: Office Coordinator

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: Faith In Action office in Chelsea, Michigan

Status: Part-time position, hourly, between $19 and $21 per hour.

Schedule: Hours to be worked during FIA normal business hours with ability to be flexible regarding days and times.

Benefits: 3 days of sick time and $400 annual Employee Wellness Reimbursement.
